    Dayton, Nev., native Lance Cpl. Jackson Bergstrom, a field radio operator with Headquarters Battery, 1st Battalion, 12th Marine Regiment, provides security from a hilltop during a halted patrol. Marines with the battery must continue to patrol in the dead of summer, despite temperatures regularly exceeding 110 degrees Fahrenheit in their area of Helmand province.
