    III Marine Expeditionary Force   

    A Marine with 3rd Battalion, 3rd Marines, tightens a knot during a classroom session at the tactical water-crossing course at the JWTC Aug. 24. Ropes are used with other standard-issue gear, such as waterproofing bags and military-issued foam sleeping mats, during the class to ferry the Marines safely across waterways.
