U.S. Army soldiers are operating a towed howitzer artillery piece that has just been fired, as evidenced by the smoke and muzzle blast visible at the barrel. The soldiers are wearing Army Combat Uniforms (ACU) with Kevlar helmets and are positioned around the gun in what appears to be a training exercise on a sandy range. The setting is a cleared field area surrounded by pine trees, consistent with a southeastern U.S. military installation.
