The Essex Pool was demolished Jan. 30, 2018, Scott Air Force Base, Illinois. The Essex House was originally constructed in 1939 to accommodate the bachelor officer quarters and messing. The food operation has had many forms over the years in adapting to changing demands and regulations. It has been both the Officer’s Club and an appropriated fund dining facility.
