PORT HUENEME, Calif. (June 14, 2018) Seabee students from Naval Construction Training Center Port Hueneme guide a new vibratory driver/extractor system into position while practicing pile driving operations. The pile driving operations “C” school course is a module of the crane operator pipeline and teaches equipment operators and construction mechanics how to safely drive and extract piles at the basic level in normal field conditions. Working with timber piles, which are used for building piers and timber bridges, is phase one of the course. The students will learn how to build sheet piles during the course’s second phase to prepare them to rebuild seawalls. (U.S. Navy photo by Amber Vaglica/Released)
