Seabees from Naval Mobile Construction Battalion (NMCB) 3 along with instructors from the 31st Seabee Readiness Group prepare to fire MK 19 automatic 40 mm grenade launchers here at the multi-purpose-range, Camp Roberts National Guard base in California. The Seabees of NMCB 3 were at Camp Roberts this week in order to get hands on training with large weapon systems. This training teaches the Seabees how to use the large weapons to defend their camp in a combat environment if in the event a Seabee battalion is attacked. NMCB 3 is an expeditionary element of U.S. Naval forces Providing construction, engineering and security services in support of national strategy, naval power projection, humanitarian assistance and contingency operations.
