    Brig. Gen. Richard E. Ellsworth, former 28th Strategic Reconnaissance Wing commander, is remembered at Ellsworth Air Force Base, S.D., for giving the base its namesake. Ellsworth was killed in a training exercise March 18, 1953, when his Convair RB-36 Peacemaker crashed killing all 22 onboard. (Courtesy photo)
