(Center) Staff Sgt. Ryan Essenmacher, an explosive ordnance disposal team leader with 720th Ordnance Company from Baumholder, Germany, and his team member, 1st. Lt. Jesse Way, receive the 2018 Ordnance Crucible – EOD Team of the Year trophy during the event’s closing ceremony at Fort Lee, Va., June 8, 2018. EOD teams are assessed on operations and associated tasks required to provide EOD support to unified land operations to eliminate and/or reduce explosive threats. The Ordnance Crucible is designed to test Soldiers' teamwork and critical thinking skills as they apply technical solutions to real world problems improving readiness of the force.
