180606-N-YJ378-0039 PACIFIC OCEAN (JUNE 6, 2018) Aviation Support Equipment Technician 3rd Class Michael Gregory, from Bremerton, Wash., signals to the pilot of an MH-60S Sea Hawk helicopter, assigned to the “Blackjacks” of Helicopter Sea Combat Squadron (HSC) 21, on the flight deck of San Antonio-class amphibious transport dock USS Anchorage (LPD 23), during a composite training unit exercise (COMPTUEX). COMPTUEX is the final pre-deployment exercise which certifies the combined Essex Amphibious Ready Group and the 13th MEU’s abilities to conduct military operations at sea and project power ashore during their upcoming deployment in summer of 2018.
