A group of people are gathered outside a brick building, queuing or congregating near an entrance. A sign on the glass door reads 'Operation Lone Star Entrance / Entrada,' indicating a bilingual (English/Spanish) program or event. The scene appears to be taken during late afternoon based on the long shadows cast across the building and sidewalk.

Texas residents wait patiently for a free humanitarian mission to begin Aug. 1, in Laredo, Texas. The mission, known as Operation Lone Star, is an annual event that provides free medical services to people along the Texas border. More than 400 Texas Military Forces service members, 200 state and county employees and numerous volunteers collaborated for the exercise to not only help Texans in need but also to conduct a real-world training event in preparation for any real world disasters or emergencies.
