Staff Sgt. Michael Hagberg, an explosive ordnance disposal team leader with 704th Ordnance Company from Fort Hood, Texas, uses rope, tied to an explosive device, to pull the device to a safe location during the 2018 Ordnance Crucible on Fort A.P. Hill, Va., June 6, 2018. EOD teams are assessed on operations and associated tasks required to provide EOD support to unified land operations to eliminate and/or reduce explosive threats. The Ordnance Crucible is designed to test Soldiers' teamwork and critical thinking skills as they apply technical solutions to real world problems improving readiness of the force.
