Gunnery Sgt. Scott A. Pifer is the administrative chief for Marine Air Control Group 28, deployed out of Marine Corps Air Station Cherry Point, N.C. Pifer, a native of New Kingstown, Pa., is currently deployed to Camp Leatherneck, Afghanistan, with 2nd Marine Aircraft Wing (Forward). Pifer said the events of 9/11 made him mindful of his surroundings.
