A group of military personnel from what appears to be a joint U.S.-Japanese military exercise or operation pose for a formal group photo in front of a large gray naval vessel. The gangway of the ship displays a blue banner with Japanese kanji characters reading '輸送艦しもきた' (Transport Ship Shimokita), along with a unit insignia patch. Personnel are arranged in two rows — standing and kneeling — wearing mixed camouflage uniforms and helmets.
