    A memorial plaque mounted on a stone base pays tribute to the men of the 10th Mountain Division of the U.S. Army. The rock was brought by the Government of Italy from Mt. Belvedere, the site of the division's greatest battle in World War II. The plaque was presented to the Whiteface Mountain Authority by the 10th Mt. Div. Association in March 1960.
