NMCCL hosted surgeons and a nurse from the American College of Surgeons (ACS) as they completed a comprehensive evaluation of the care of trauma patients in preparation for achieving verification as a Level III Trauma Center. ACS representatives applauded NMCCL staff about their unwavering commitment, and refining processes to care for injured patients.
“Our ability to provide exceptional care to the war-fighting team at its peak, as well as trauma services to Eastern North Carolina, is incredibly important to our country,” said Commanding Officer CAPT Jim Hancock. “Through the guidance and evaluation of the ACS, NMCCL is one step closer to establishing the trauma program.”
“We have such incredible staff here who are whole-heartedly committed to taking care of trauma patients and we are so proud of them,” said Executive Officer, CAPT Shelley Perkins.
