Airman 1st Class Daniel Cherry, C-17 Globemaster III loadmaster, points out the D-ring which nearly cost him a finger, July 30. The loadmaster was loading cargo when his finger was smashed between the loading rail and a 4,000 pound pallet, causing a near amputation. Cherry is deployed from Charleston Air Force Base, S.C.
