U.S 5TH FLEET AREA OF OPERATIONS (April 14, 2018) U.S. Marine Corps Sgt. Cody Clay, 26, a native of Twin Falls, Idaho and assistant section leader assigned to the Assault Amphibious Vehicle Platoon, Battalion Landing Team, 2nd Battalion, 6th Marine Regiment, was awarded the Marine In The Spotlight award for exceptional performance and conduct aboard the dock landing ship USS Oak Hill (LSD 51), while underway, April 14, 2018. "I am humbled and honored to receive this award." Clay said. "To all Marines, stay motivated". The Oak Hill is deployed to the U.S. 5th Fleet area of operations in support of maritime security operations to reassure allies and partners and preserve the freedom of navigation and the free flow of commerce in the region.
