    Two U.S. Air Force Thunderbirds F-16 Fighting Falcon jets are performing a close-proximity aerobatic maneuver, appearing to pass extremely close to each other in opposite orientations. The aircraft display the distinctive Thunderbirds livery of white, blue, and red with the iconic thunderbird insignia. One aircraft is trailing white smoke, characteristic of airshow demonstration performances.

    U.S. Air Force Maj.'s Aaron Jelinek, Thunderbird 5, Lead Solo and J.R. Williams, Thunderbird 6, Opposing Solo, perform the Inverted Opposing Knife Edge Pass during the Boston Portsmouth Air Show at Pease Air National Guard Base, N.H., Aug. 14. The Thunderbirds' performance in New Hampshire was the first time in 25 years.
