Ingrid-Karta Bink, the Commewijne District commissioner, H.E. Lamure Latour, the Surinamese minister of defense, H.E. Celsius Waterberg, the Surinamese minister of public health, Dr. Maaltie Ashim-Sardjoe, the director of Suriname's Regional Health Service, U.S. Ambassador John R. Nay, and Dr. M.R. Hew, a physician with the Regional Health Service, formally cut a ribbon outside of a medical clinic in Alkmaar, Suriname, Aug. 12, during a Ribbon Cutting Ceremony for the newly built facility. The Alkmaar Clinic was built during the summer of 2011 as part of the New Horizons training exercise.
