FIREBASE SAENZ, Helmand province, Afghanistan— Sgt. Tony Hansen, a Hartwell, Ga., native and a Marine Corps Martial Arts Instructor, leads formation run during a combat conditioning. The Marines must partake in one hour of combat conditioning every day. This type of training builds the Marines physical endurance while pushing their bodies and minds to their limits, often further than some individuals may think they can go.
