Three U.S. Army soldiers in OCP (Operational Camouflage Pattern) uniforms are gathered outdoors on a paved surface, appearing to conduct an equipment inspection or inventory. A large spread of military gear, including body armor, helmets, bags, and various equipment items, is laid out on the ground in front of them. The setting appears to be a military installation with buildings and vehicles visible in the background.

I Corps officially kicked off its 2018 Best Warrior Competition May 14 at Joint Base Lewis-McChord, Washington. One of the first day's events includes an inspection of the competing Soldiers TA-50, which are items of clothing and individual equipment issued to them. If the Soldier fails to produce the inspectable item it will count against their overall score. Here, Sgt. 1st Class Aram Jacques (center), First Sergeant, Headquarters & Headquarters Detachment, 109th Military Intelligence Battalion, 201st Expeditionary Military Intelligence Brigade, speaks with one of the inspectors (left) during the TA-50 inspection. The gear on the ground in front of him is most of a typical TA-50 issue. (U.S. Army photo by Staff Sgt. Chris McCullough)
