MEDITERRANEAN SEA (April 19, 2018) Lance Cpl. Axel Gonzalez, a postal clerk assigned to combat Logistics Battalion 26, 26th Marine Expeditionary Unit, sorts mail aboard the San Antonio-class amphibious transport dock USS New York (LPD 21) April 19, 2018. Gonzalez is one of two postal clerks who takes the responsibility of organizing, supervising and delivering mail aboard the ship while deployed to the U.S. 6th Fleet area of operations. U.S. 6th Fleet, headquartered in Naples, Italy, conducts the full spectrum of joint and naval operations, often in concert with allied and interagency partners, in order to advance U.S. national interests and security and stability in Europe and Africa.
