Jazmone Turner (left) and Twyla Peoples body spar during the Marine Corps Recruiting Command’s 2018 Coaches Workshop aboard Marine Corps Base Quantico, Virginia, May 17. The Coaches Workshop educates approximately 50 collegiate coaches from across the nation about essential Marine Corps leadership skills and programs they can share with their student athletes based on first-hand experiences. Turner is the associate head coach at Coppin State University in Baltimore, Maryland and a member of the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC). Peoples is the basketball coach at Thomas University in Thomasville, Georgia and a member of the Women's Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA). The Marine Corps partners with these organizations to inspire coaches via Marine Corps leadership styles and characteristics, creating brand advocates among the organization's key influencers.
