Lt. Col. Joseph Grant, a route clearance squad leader with 5th Sqdn., 4th Cav. Regt., and a Charleston, Ill., native, a folder containing a combat spur certificate during an awards ceremony Aug. 3 at Camp Liberty, Iraq. In addition to presenting combat spur certificates, which signify service in a cavalry squadron while deployed, Moore and Col. Paul Calvert, commander of 2nd AAB, presented Army Achievement Medals and commander’s coins to groups of Longknife Squadron soldiers for their work in making it possible to hand over Joint Security Station Falcon to the Iraqi Security Forces.
