Sgt. 1st Class Russell Gerhardt, who serves with Camp Grafton Training Center, fires a round down range using his M-16A2 July 29 at Camp Grafton South rifle range near Devils Lake, N.D. Gerhardt took top honors in the Pistol category of the North Dakota National Guard Adjutant General’s Combat Marksmanship Match. He also earned “Top Gun” by accomplishing the best overall score when all shooting categories were combined. He will now move on to the Marksmanship Advisory Council Regional Competition in Camp Guernsey, Wyo., Aug. 11-14. Gerhardt is also the team captain of the second place team in the marksmanship contest.
