Petty Officer 3rd Class Lucien Vienot, a hospitalmen with the Joint Sustainment Academy Southwest, checks the weight of the gear he wore during the Danish Contingent March aboard Camp Leatherneck, July 26. Vienot, a native of Cincinnatti, ran the competition while wearing gear weighing more than 50 pounds. He was the first American to finish the challenge and the second participant to finish while wearing a full combat load. The Dancon march is a 15-mile endurance contest held by Danish troops wherever they are deployed.
