Gayle Shaffer, chief of the Navy Dental Corps, presents Mrs. Gloria Alexander Rogers with a bouquet of flowers following the formal presentation of the Silver Star Medal honoring Lt. Cmdr. Hugh Rossman Alexander. Alexander, Rogers’ father, was the senior dental officer aboard battleship USS Oklahoma during the attack on Pearl Harbor Dec. 7, 1941.
