Marines participate in an eight-ball pool tournament during the annual Unwasted Warrior Weekend in The Great Escape on Marine Corps Air Station Miramar, Calif., April 20 to 23. The pool tournament was one of several events promoting Alcohol Awareness Month with sponsored activities and prize giveaways encouraging Marines and Sailors to find alternatives to consuming alcohol. “We are trying to show that there are multiple things you can do to occupy your time and still have fun without alcohol – whether it is sporting events, trying something new or just old-fashioned fun,” said Katie Weeres, Single Marine Program coordinator at MCAS Miramar.
