Marines with Marine Fighter Attack Squadron 121, 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit, roll a GBU-12 Paveway II, Laser Guided Bomb across the flight deck of the USS Wasp (LHD-1) during Certification Exercise while underway in the Pacific Ocean, April 18, 2018. During CERTEX, VMFA-121 conducted an expeditionary strike – an aerial strike launched from the sea. The 31st MEU and Amphibious Squadron 11 conduct Certification Exercise as the final evaluation in a series of training exercises which ensures readiness for crisis response throughout the Indo- Pacific region.
