MEDITERRANEAN SEA (April 15, 2018) An MV-22 Osprey assigned to Marine Medium Tiltrotor Squadron (VMM) 263, Special-Purpose Marine Air-Ground Task Force-Crisis Response-Africa, lands on the San Antonio-class amphibious transport dock USS New York (LPD 21) during routine flight deck operations April 15, 2018. The flight deck operations certify the Osprey pilots to land on an LPD in open ocean operations and work with Navy landing support while deployed to U.S. 6th Fleet area of operations. U.S. 6th Fleet, headquartered in Naples, Italy, conducts the full spectrum of joint and naval operations, often in concert with allied and interagency partners, in order to advance U.S. national interests and security and stability in Europe and Africa.
