    Common and Red-breasted Mergansers swim in the Straits of Mackinac, April 13, 2018. Wildlife professionals from the U.S. Department of Agriculture Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service (USDA-APHIS) Wildlife Services program have been conducting wildlife surveillance to ensure birds and wildlife have not been impacted from the mineral oil release in the Straits of Mackinac.
