Benjamin Breckheimer, who was a cavalry scout with 5th Brigade, 2nd Infantry Division, before the Bataan Memorial Death March at White Sands Missile Range, N.M., May 22, 2017walked nearly 7 miles in the Bataan Memorial Death March at White Sands Missile Range, N.M., March 25, 2018. On September 13, 2009, while driving on a mission near Spin Boldak, Iraq, Breckheimer’s vehicle hit a pressure plate improvised explosive device (IED) which immediately caused traumatic injuries to his lower extremities.
