Assistant Secretary of the Army for Civil Works R.D. James, tours the Rio De La Plata flood control project, April 11, 2018, along with the Army Corps of Engineers, Antilles Office personnel, here in Puerto Rico. Once the Rio De La Plata project is completed, it will provide flood mitigation to three municipalities in Dorado, Toa Baja, and Toa Alta. While on the island, James also visited other Army Civil Works projects including the Caño Martín Peña, an environmental restoration project currently under preliminary engineering and design phase; Rio Puerto Nuevo, flood risk management project presently under construction and San Juan Harbor Improvements study, a navigation project presently finishing feasibility in the fiscal year 2018 among many others.
