U.S. 5TH FLEET AREA OF OPERATIONS (April 8, 2018) Landing Craft Utility (LCU) 1656 enters the well deck of the Harpers Ferry-class amphibious dock landing ship USS Oak Hill (LSD 51) loaded with two M1/A1 Abrams tanks assigned to 26th Marine Expeditionary Unit (26th MEU). Oak Hill, home-ported in Virginia Beach, Va., is on a scheduled deployment to the U.S. 5th Fleet area of operations in support of maritime security operations to reassure allies and partners, and preserve the freedom of navigation and the free flow of commerce in the region.
