PATROL BASE MEHRAJ, Helmand province, Afghanistan - A local man stands with his grandchild after tending to their small piece of farmland. According to a linguist with 3rd Battalion, 2nd Marine Regiment, the man has recently returned to his home after being forced away by insurgents. The Marines conduct daily patrols throughout their area of operations to keep a healthy and positive relationship with local residents.
