CAMP FOSTER, OKINAWA, Japan – April is national Child Abuse Prevention Month. The Department of Defense defines child abuse as any type of physical, emotional and sexual, or neglectful actions or omissions on the part of a child’s caregiver. Child abuse prevention is the responsibility of everyone and any suspected abuse must be reported. Child abuse, without the proper support, can last a lifetime. (U.S. Marine Corps photo by Pfc.
