Brig. Gen. Steve Stivers, director of the joint staff of the Ohio National Guard, congratulates Soldiers and their Families on a successful deployment following the unit’s welcome home ceremony March 31, 2018, in McConnelsville, Ohio. The 2-174th was deployed to Iraq and Afghanistan, where the unit’s primary duty was to operate systems that detect and/or destroy incoming artillery, rockets and mortar rounds in the air before they hit their ground targets, to protect coalition forces.
