SAN DIEGO (April 3, 2018) Airman Tianming Yang, assigned to the amphibious assault ship USS Makin Island (LHD 8), leads a hose team during aviation firefighting training at Naval Base San Diego’s Surface Warfare Officers School Command. Approximately 70 Makin Island Air Department Sailors attended the training to enhance the ship’s aviation firefighting capabilities.
