Soldiers from 1st Platoon, Bandit Troop, 6th ‘Saber’ Squadron, 9th Cavalry Regiment, 3rd Advise and Assist Brigade, 1st Cavalry Division, utilize a Long-Range Advance Scout Surveillance System in order to identify insurgents emplacing indirect fire assets July 6, near Contingency Operating Base Delta, Iraq. Eliminating insurgent’s capabilities to use indirect fire is a top priority for Saber Squadron as it poses a great threat not only to U.S. security forces but also the local population.
