Sailors from Riverine Squadron 3 and Marines from the Royal Netherlands Marine Corps, carry an inflatable raft into the water in preparation for the start of a six kilometer amphibious march along the island of Curacao, July 5. The amphibious march consists of a jump off a cliff into the water, a four kilometer paddle in inflatable boats, followed by a two kilometer swim. Sailors from RIVRON 3 are cross-training with elements of the Royal Netherlands Marine Corps and Navy for a three-week training course designed to familiarize U.S. Navy Riverines with Dutch ship to shore amphibious operations.
