    31st Marine Expeditionary Unit

Cpl. Danny Shuck, a military working dog handler, and Duece, a military working dog, both with the 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit, fast rope out of an MH-60S Sea Hawk aboard the USS Wasp (LHD-1) while underway in the Pacific Ocean, March 23, 2018. Fast roping allows Marines to enter otherwise inaccessible locations via rope from a hovering aircraft. Marines with Force Reconnaissance Platoon train regularly for quick, tactical raids of targets on both land and sea. As the Marine Corps' only continuously forward-deployed MEU, the 31st MEU provides a flexible force ready to perform a wide range of military operations. (U.S. Marine Corps photo by Cpl.
