A Ugandan community animal health worker carefully places a vaccine in the eye of a chicken during a veterinary civic action project, June 6, in Kagamongole, Uganda. U.S. Army service members assigned to the 402nd Civil Affairs Battalion teamed with Ugandan veterinarian students and 31 CAHW's to treat more than 30,000 animals during this VETCAP. Vaccines were distributed to treat and prevent encephalitis and rabies to help eradicate of several forms of intestinal parasites.
