Peter Wilson completes crosswind creeping short take off and vertical landing (STOVL) testing with BF-1, an F-35B, March 5 at Naval Air Station Patuxent River, Maryland. This is BF-1’s final system design and development (SDD) phase flight test with only a few ground test points remaining to close out SDD for BF-1.
In addition to its STOVL capability, the F-35B’s unique combination of stealth, cutting-edge radar, sensor technology and electronic warfare systems brings all the access and lethality capability of a fifth generation fighter.
