Stephen Arles, center, senior medical officer of the amphibious assault ship USS Bonhomme Richard (LHD 6), describes the ship’s medical capabilities to distinguished visitors during a ship tour. Bonhomme Richard is in Manila to strengthen relations with Philippine partners while operating in the Indo-Pacific region as part of a regularly scheduled patrol and provides a rapid-response capability in the event of a regional contingency or natural disaster.
