    A member of NASA’s HyspIRI preparatory campaign pours liquid nitrogen into the ER-2 aircraft’s hyperspectral thermal emission spectrometer, Marine Corps Air Station Kaneohe Bay, Feb. 2, 2018. The instrument supports the campaign’s goal to gather environmental data from the Hawaiian Islands, such as coral reef health and volcanic activity, to ultimately pave the way for the deployment of a satellite sharing the same mission.
