Jamie Deets was named the Quantico Civilian of the Year for 2017 for exceptional performance of his duties while serving as the Workforce Development Program manager, Civilian Manpower, G-1, Marine Corps Base Quantico from Jan. 1, 2017 to Dec. 31, 2017. Jamie Deets provided top notch customer service and care for Marine Corps Base Quantico staff and tenant commands by promoting, managing and delivering a myriad of training and secondary education opportunities to civilian employees. He envisioned, developed and coordinated the launch of a web page for training programs and training information, making information widely accessible to all. His leadership drives programs like the supervisor development course, Marine Corps acculturation program and supports the Lejeune Leadership Institute’s mission where he regularly is requested to serve as a leadership instructor. Additionally, his efforts to promote the academic degree program (ADP) at the ground level, publicizing, informing, and meeting with leaders and employees, contributed to an increase in funding spent to over $250,000 for employee education and qualifications.
