180221-N-NJ416-0005 KEY WEST, Florida (Feb. 21, 2018) Naval Aircrewman (Helicopter) 2nd Class Jake Speckhals, Columbia, Mo, assigned to the Helicopter Mine Countermeasures Squadron (HM) 14, conducts lookout during airborne mine countermeasures training out of Naval Air Station Key West. HM-14 and HM-15, from Norfolk, Virginia, fly MH-53E Sea Dragons, and are the only helicopter squadrons in the Navy dedicated to airborne mine countermeasures. They can operate in any part of the world within 72 hours. NAS Key West is a state-of-the-art facility for air-to-air combat fighter aircraft of all military services and provides world-class pierside support to U.S. and foreign naval vessels.
