James Hogg signs the back of a commemorative plaque during the Electromagnetic Railgun line naming ceremony held at Naval Surface Warfare Center, Dahlgren Division. Adm. Hogg and Dr. Hans Mark, who also was recognized during the ceremony, laid the foundation for the U.S. Navy Railgun program and led the effort to explore and illustrate to senior leadership the warfighting advantages of this game-changing technology and were pivotal in gaining the initial funding necessary to demonstrate its feasibility.
