GULF OF THAILAND (Feb. 19, 2018) Naval Aircrewman (Helicopter) 1st Class Nathaniel Edwards mans a .50-caliber machine gun from an MH-60S Sea Hawk helicopter assigned to the “Sea Knights” of Helicopter Sea Combat Squadron (HSC) 22 during a live-fire exercise. HSC-22 is deployed aboard the amphibious assault ship USS Bonhomme Richard (LHD 6). Bonhomme Richard is participating in Exercise Cobra Gold 2018 alongside Royal Thai Navy conducting a range of amphibious operations that will enhance the tactical expertise of participants and rehearse combined capabilities to respond to contingencies.
