180210-N-FN963-0075 PACIFIC OCEAN (Feb. 10, 2018) Chief Gunner’s Mate Stephen Sullivan, from Poughkeepsie, N.Y., instructs Culinary Specialist 2nd Class Miguel Lacsa, from Vallejo, Calif., on firing a .50-caliber machine gun during a live-fire exercise aboard the Arleigh Burke-class guided-missile destroyer USS Sterett (DDG 104). Sterett is on a scheduled deployment to conduct operations in the Indo-Pacific region. It will also support the Wasp Expeditionary Strike Group (ESG) in order to advance U.S. Pacific Fleet’s Up-Gunned ESG concept and will train with forward-deployed amphibious ships across all mission areas.
